This Privacy Policy describes how HAMY LABS LLC ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use the QuietCut website and desktop application (together, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign in, we collect your email address. We authenticate via single-use "magic links" sent to that address — we do not store passwords.

Purchase information

When you buy QuietCut, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment details directly. We receive a transaction identifier, amount, and a license key we issue. We never see or store your full card number.

License validation

The desktop app periodically contacts our server to validate your license key. These requests include your license key and the source IP address. We log requests to detect abuse and enforce rate limits.

Server logs

Like most web services, our servers log requests (IP address, user agent, timestamp, URL). We use these logs for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.

What we do not collect

The desktop application processes your video files entirely on your local machine. We never upload, view, or store your media files. The app does not phone home with file paths, metadata, or content.

2. How We Use Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your account.
• To process purchases and issue license keys.
• To validate license keys and prevent unauthorized use.
• To send transactional email (magic links, purchase receipts, license key delivery).
• To protect the Service from fraud, abuse, and security threats.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

3. Service Providers

We share the minimum necessary information with:

• Stripe — processes payments. See Stripe's privacy policy.
• Our email provider — delivers magic links, receipts, and license keys.
• Our hosting and storage providers — run the site infrastructure and distribute binary downloads.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and purchase records for as long as your license is active plus a reasonable period thereafter to handle refunds, disputes, and legal obligations. Server logs are retained for a limited period (typically under 90 days) and then discarded.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@quietcut.net. We will respond within a reasonable time.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, audit logging) to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. International Users

Our servers may be located outside your country. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in other jurisdictions.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes take effect when posted to this page, and we will update the effective date above.
